So I went to the Newgrounds meetup in London last week. My first meetup ever.
I was here
And here
You didn't see me in the picture? Here's a hint:
That's me. I'm the drawing.
I was also there in person too.
I was late to the initial meetup by the rock, so I found everyone beneath the trees. The hot weather, combined with me not knowing most people's names or faces made me feel awkward, but things changed once we headed to the second location.
The basement of a building with a back garden.
On one of the walls was a TV projecting Newgrounds cartoons overlayed onto music videos, producing the effect of a weird AMV. At some point there was a 3D rotating Palpatine overlayed onto what I think was a 3D fight. I can't remember the details but there was a lot of undefiled 3D buildings and maybe one or two characters fighting or zooming through the air. I wish I captured it.
The vibes were casual, but seeing that I'm not the partying sort, I mainly floated around the room. Sometimes I'd approach people and other times they'd approach me, sharing details about our lives and projects.
The vibes may have been too casual though, as I made small talk with @Snackers multiple times before asking for his autograph.
But later on, I mustered up some more courage and asked him to draw Reiko on the back. I was expecting him to draw the head or bust, but he draw her fully, which filled out the back of the poster.
He told me he'd get the details wrong, but I still appreciate it.
Respect to @ViewtifulValentine @HenryEYES and @Qelindent for helping me get more comfortable. It would've been cooler if I instantly knew you from something(especially considering I only recognised your work after the meetup), but it's nice that you were approachable without it.
