Jack Kirby was a renowned comic artist. He's most famous for creating Captain America, and co-creating the Fantastic Four, Hulk, and Thor, among many, many others. The man was a legend. There's even a tribute to him in Superman the Animated Series

I think that you should use darker colours for objects that aren't the main focus. It's kind of hard to clearly see the main focuses
